One of the best parts about travel in Japan is bathing in hot springs.
Hakone Hotel is located in the shore of Lake Ashi, famous area as one of the "17 Hakone Hot Springs".

We have two bathrooms enjoyable with nature view of Hakone.
"SPA ASHINOKO" offers views of Lake Ashi and mountains.
"SPA TAIKAN" has open-air bath where you can gaze up at the sky.

*Indoor bathroom is a Jacuzzi. (Not hot spring)

*Please bring the bath towels from your room.

Effects

Neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, stiff shoulders, bruises, etc.

Do not use if you suffer from the following:
Acute disease, active tuberculosis, severe heart trouble, respiratory failure, bleeding disorders, high anemia, pregnancy (initial months and final months)

Precautions for bathing

  1. Avoid bathing immediately before or after eating or after drinking alcohol. Especially avoid bathing while intoxicated.
  2. When you are overly fatigued, rest your body.
  3. Rest your body for about 30 minutes after exercise.
  4. It is recommended that elderly people, children, and people with physical disabilities avoid bathing alone.
  5. Before entering the bathtub, pour hot water over your hands and feet to get used to the temperature, and wash your body.
  6. When taking a bath, especially when taking a bath immediately after waking up, be sure to drink at least one glass of water in advance to avoid dehydration.

Japanese Bath Etiquette

Before you take a hot bath, please check the following:
  1. Please take off your underwear before you go into the bath area.
  2. Please wash yourself well before getting into the bathtub. (Please sit down for taking a shower, and do not waste water.)
  3. Please keep your towel out of the bathtub.
  4. Please do not run in the bath area, and do not swim in the bathtub.
  5. Please refrain from taking videos, photos or washing your clothes or underwear.
  6. Please dry yourself off before coming out of the dressing area.
*Persons with tattoos are asked to refrain from using the public bathing facilities.
